Hi-end speakers for lamps – Grandinote Mach 8XL

This entry is one of the few that were created after the rallyAudio Whiskey Mini Audio Showorganized by the CEO of the Niechanowo brewery in beautiful Kashubia with Czesław, who is the owner of the GrandNote hi-end set.

(My Polish teacher for this sentence would probably tell me to return to high school, but it’s hard ;-))

Grandinote Mach 8XL loudspeakers

… they deserve a separate entry because they were the stars of this event and the most happening around them.

The loudspeakers are big, high and impressive. Simplify – it is actually a wall of large midrange drivers with a tube in the middle.

As a rule, I am skeptical about hi-end audio. Usually it’s just stuffing people into a bottle by offering ridiculously expensive products, for playing, which can be achieved with vintage blocks for a fraction of the amount.

Usually, in order for it to sound good, you need cables for several dozen k, adaptations and some powerful stove that will keep the whole thing in check.

In my opinion, the Mach 8XL defended itself.

Here’s why …

The sound of the Grandinote Mach 8XL

Grandnotes do a lot of things well. First of all, they look impressive and standing in front of them … You can feel excitement and curiosity for a good day.

The sound is big, the scene is great. Spectacular playing.

But

These are not columns whose hi-end is determined by super-precision presentation, stage, bass (which, of course, you will not get without perfect adaptation)

They are a bit idiot-resistant in their own way – i.e. you don’t have to have 200 audio blocks behind you to squeeze a unique sound out of them.

It is enough to sit relatively close to them and give them a not too powerful amplifier.

They have a bit of softness in them, a lot of openness and directnessalaTannoy.They can hit the listener incredibly with strong vocals, charm with colors, and reflect the best of the tubes.

They show each amplifier differently, but they impose a kind of softness and at the same time expressiveness of the message, which makes you want to listen to the music with interest.

For me personallyHi-end is a combination of many features, while in music there must be emotions and energy.The size of the Grandinote Mach 8XL guarantees this energy. Even a column for PLN 5,000 can play the bass today.

The trick is to combine energy and emotional transmission. Openness, color, microdynamics, attack, space, pulse.

So I’ve gone through 3 numbers that should move me…

dijac– My next artist for the emotional transmission test – the Golden Fish number – you let go and know about the system everything that can be done in this regard. Only here you need openness and mass to give back the hoarseness of his drunk vocals.

Listening to this number on a good set, at night … a person should be nostalgic. I felt as if I was listening to a lullaby, something I have known since I was a child, even though I know this album for maybe 5 years.

During this trip, Grandinoty played a lot of jazz, acoustics, tenor saxophone, but also a bit of prog rock, many audiophile plumps and virtually every repertoire was a performance.

As for the shortcomings

… or maybe just the features that you have to take into account – at least in the set of czech:

• These loudspeakers are engaging and require the listener to focus on music. However, for engaging loudspeakers, they are affordable and do not tire in the long run.
• They sound best in the listening center, in the so-called Sweet Spotie – they were banging aside with the bass as they moved to the side, and as we move backwards, we lose this energy from the diameter that they pump in the sweet spot
• In my opinion, these are not loudspeakers to listen to quietly – only withsol andIt was quite mass inside, in other sets it must have been a bit louder

Summation

What I personally liked about them was the fact that we could put a cheap one into themHaiku Sol IAnd still have hi-end gaming.

Mach 8XL are not looking for excuses –Not this cable, not enough power, put an acoustic panel for me.

Colloquially speaking, if we do not try to force them to marry a strong stove, it is difficult to spoil them. I have the impression that what we do not give there up to 30W should simply play great.

The audiophile will squeeze the most flavors out of them with something in the 2-10W range. The music lover will probably give some sophistication and insight into the recording in exchange for greater versatility and averaging.

They can show an amplifier tuned by a wise designer.

They can play spectacularly with the 3.5W Sun Audio 2A3.They mercilessly spat out Denon PMA-S1 and Tenor OTL monoblocks on the Devils, but they played fantastically with cheap, simple and weak lamps.

Grandnote Mach 8XLThey have something to love them for – incredible directness and the ability to connect with the artist.

I would say with the soul of the artist. Looking at how crazy and illogical the world sometimes seems to be … Grandinote go deeper and make themselves hear these emotions / tear in the artist’s vocals again, you start to believe that we are not just a pile of meat that wanders around this world Eat, copulate and kick in a calendar with overeating and overwhelming.

Also … I recommend listening if you are looking for modern parcels under the lamp and are looking for similar features in the sound as described above. In many respects, these are certainly outstanding columns.
