Jadis da 30 – 100% lamp in the lamp

Gold panel and exposed glowing lamps that reflect in a polished, chrome surface … and finally the sound – full diameter on the warm side, perfect filling and loading the vocals. The bass is full and fleshy, and the upper edge is slightly rounded.

On the NOS Svetlana C Wings 6550 lamps we have an amplifier as consistent with its design as it can be.

On the other hand, the sound of Jadis is not a stereotypical tube dumpling again. It is not stuck, the bass does not pull. We have good resolution and legibility, both at the top and in the midrange, and at the same time perfectly embedded, mature, audiophile sound adapted to non-tiring, all-day listening sessions.

The French, combined with my references over the years, Tannoy Little Gold Monitor created one of the most synergistic duos. 30W in the A class controlled them perfectly and perfectly complemented their characteristics – bright, slightly bony, but dynamic, contour.

Jadis + Tannoy is the reference diameter. Colors, emotions, filling, realism, contour, vocals are virtually unbeatable.

The set sounded phenomenal both quiet and loud. Maybe it wasn’t as thin line playing as the 300B, but the direction Jadis proposes can definitely be liked.

I also combined the DA30 with Audiophase Opium and it was also great, although the bass was a bit too loose there, and the whole thing was too sticky. There was also no synergy with Snell E3 – mainly due to the too large bass, which in E3s must be caught in rice rather than added volume.

Jadis seems to be made for fast, bright, slightly vicious columns.

It will work great in overly analytical and detailed systems, but with a fast source it found itself equally well with Harbeth HL MK2.

Synergy can be expected from Tannoy from the SRM / SGM, LGM / LRM series, as well as, for example, all Focals and JM Labs. In the case of neutral columns, a more dynamic source, possibly silver wires or an external PRE will be needed (power amplifier option). Another thing is that I also tested it with KT88 GenAlex Gold Lion and KT 120 Tung Sol lamps.

I really liked the GenAlexie (KT 88 GenALex Gold Lion) – the sound opened, although it also significantly lost its color and spell, but it also accelerated and became more contouring. In such a setup, you can easily try neutral columns, and maybe even with a slightly warm character. With the KT120, the sound has already gone strongly in the transistor side – better textures, excellent dynamics, quite bright and sharp mountain. The impression was as if suddenly 30W turned into 100W.

I also had the opportunity to listen to Jadis I88 Signature at my place. with Genalex. The sound is very similar to the DA30, although it has been a long time since I sold my art. Even more power, even more checks, invoices.

In general, sound jadis can be characterized as

Warm, rather calm, but dynamic and legible. The midrange plays a leading role, but you always feel such a hint of security – both in dynamics and at the top. It is perfect for hours of listening.

When I had to visit at home for the above reasons, however, I liked less than another Frenchman – Verdier 220 on EL34 and out of the 4 people who had the opportunity to listen to these stoves, 3 pointed to Verdier.

This one was also incredibly colorful, although the diameter was not so pampered. However, it had better bass and much better dynamics.

It resembled a young dog dropped from a leash, which each song played with even more verve, as if waving its tail cheerfully at the same time. These are, of course, slightly different presentations, different power lamps, although the thickness of the sound, the filling of the sound of playing was similar.

Apart from Jadis, I also had a quite fashionable Circle Audio A200 in recent years.

The Polish construction had a lot of advantages such as stage, dynamics and transparency, it played more thinly linear – almost like a triode. Nevertheless, for me, Jadis’s diameter had something more captivating and encouraging to listen. Circle, however, imposed onehybridWhat I call it a manner. And listening to it was very pleasant, the sound objectively high. Nevertheless, in its own way, it averaged and insulated the entire message.

Summation

Jadis DA30 is, in my opinion, an amplifier definitely worth attention. It is hardly possible to find equipment, where the constructor has such a coherent concept – both the sound and the appearance of the device. Jadis sounds a bit different from most of the equipment I’ve had. your way. For someone who is looking for equipment in which the audiophile signature meets Melomanska, it should certainly be high in the rankings.
