Nevertheless, you should be aware that it isgambling. Each ‘dream enhancer’ plays differently …And some are not worth the investment... luckily for their owners, there is often no reference point and the game is different than its predecessor, so it’s OK.
Why is buying DIY / kit audio / kit gambling?
So many things are important for the sound of the device – brands and materials of capacitors and resistors, their parameters, etc.
I heard with my own ears how much the replacement of a seemingly completely irrelevant pair of capacitors in the supply path can change – such for literally a few zlotys a piece.
At home I had phono preamps that my friend made – the first Audio Note clone played in such a way that there was literally nothing to collect from Manley Chinook (currently about PLN 12,000). The second – on seemingly better, but slightly different components, was simply terrible – bland, expressionless, attacked and with fuzzy apparent sources.
If it seems to you that someone will do ‘good power supply’ and throw good capacitors there, or they will mount the top swivel to the tube and you have ‘swept’ … then you are right –It seems to you.
Very often, such devices have a feature that is irritating or missing something … and damn, it is not known where to look for the cause.
That is why, in my opinion, such constructions should be used mainly by DIY / sneakers, or people who are very obedient.

Audio DIY and Auto Tuning
Many strongly twisted audiophiles-diyers twist certain sound parameters to the limit. Such an amplifier then resembles a car for a drug or a drift – it has great acceleration, or it goes sideways and gives me a lot of fun.
Or … a given block fits perfectly into its columns and its source.
Unfortunately, after a month of use, when the adrenaline subsides a bit, it may turn out that in the new one it is difficult to overcome its speed bump, or it lacks a rear seat.
The audio market is really full of very good branded or manufacture devices. They can be resold relatively easily. In the case of buying a stimulant, it is usually lossless.
Of course, there are exceptions and I know cases where DIY colloquially speaking … breaks the system.
In good audio, simplicity and awareness of what you are doing are valuable.
A perfect example is, for example, brands such asPhoenix Audio, haiku audioor even the EAR. Then you don’t need the best luck or the best parameters, and the music is still playing.
