I thought about creating this place for a long time. Even a few years ago I bought a server, but there was never enough motivation to implement this idea. It took a long time, one day I started looking at my photos and everything in my head was one whole. I decided to combine two passions – photography and audio in one place. Create a diary of my audio-adventures, which has been quite a lot in recent years.
Today, however, I will write from a different perspective. Over the years, my perception of this hobby has changed a lot.
I already know that there are no best speakers or the best amplifiers. that there are no perfect systems.
That more expensive is not always better, that it is not dynamics, control and detail that are a determinant of good playing. The most important thing is the listener’s perspective, that he is satisfied, that he finds in a given sound presentation what turns him on the most.
In audio, we have a whole lot of factors influencing the reception of equipment – acoustics, matching track elements, type of music, volume level, whether we listen for a long time or a short time. Whether we need energy or relaxation from the speakers. stimulation or relief.
Above all, let’s remember that this hobby is ours – the most important thing is that the system pleases us …
Its characteristics are to suit our taste, not a friend, its design is to be liked and match our living space. Whether they’re big as vintage washing machinesThese tannoyes or slender contemporary loudspeakers in the High Gloss varnish … The whole thing must harmonize with the room – its size, the way of setting the loudspeakers.
Therefore, you should take all kinds of reviews, tests and opinions of other users with a distance.
It is rather worth looking for features in them and considering whether these are the elements that are missing in our track or vice versa.
We are all looking for this game – we chase the bunny, the perfect sound, the combination of fire and water. However, I found out buying more devices that were supposed to be the target ones, that not the goal, but the search – this path gives me the most fun in all of this.
I managed to make a great system of my great system a few times, but it turns out that I like the imperfect ones just as much – those that intertwine expensive, good elements with cheap and create a nice synergy – sometimes sound, sometimes visual. And in general, the most satisfaction is putting together quite cheap elements that give a more pleasant sound than a set that is several times more expensive.
One of my friends once said that the first plugging of a new element into the track is like a drug – excitement, an injection of dopamine – damn, there is something to it. Maybe that’s why I fell in love with it?
At the other extreme of this juggling, there are lonely evenings, when we are looking for relief, a moment of rest from everyday duties.
Compiling systems, buying new – better and better equipment, listening sessions, meetings with friends – it is extremely important in all of this.
At the end of the day, let’s not forget what was the starting point – and it was probably the music itself. Let’s listen to what we like, not what is well realized, compose the equipment so that it makes us happy. Let’s not be afraid to look, but let’s not be afraid of cheaper solutions, if their sound suits us, sometimes it’s worth letting go.
When we can calmly pick up our favorite vinyl or CD after a whole day of race and forget about what is bothering us for a moment. I also love streamers that allow you to constantly get to know new music.
Contrary to popular belief, there is a lot of new music. It is enough to know where to look and compare the system so that it will lead us with its method of presentation to new areas that have not been discovered so far 🙂
