My fascination with lamps began with the Bat VK-75 listening, i.e. the Push-Pull design for 4 popular onesDevils.
I was absolutely charmed by the momentum, but above all with this viscosity, the density of the diameter. The Yamaha NS-1000 monitors, which it propelled, were moving air in a nearly 50-meter living room.
So I naturally associated that the amplifier on this lamp will sound well and will give me similar sensations. A few years later, there was an opportunity to buy the title Phasta Anniversary.
Phast Anniversary is a power amplifier with a preamp in a separate housing. The whole thing plays very well together, but it is worth experimenting with other PREs, because the effects can be surprising.
Devils – 6S33S
construction ondevilsIt’s pretty cool, but it’s quite a difficult lamp to apply. I have heard a lot of good about Phasts, also about older designs – still as Phase. The Anniversary model is considered alongside the modern GM70 as one of the most successful products of the Ukrainian Manufacture.
What attracts the devils the most before listening to them is … their appearance.
The 300B/2A3 plays with unparalleled clarity, air, but they don’t actually shine.
845, 211, 805, GM70 shine more like weak bulbs with a specific shape.
EL, 6550 or KT lamps – they give light and can introduce a climate, but in relation to devils it is shy.
Rosyjksa 6S33S (because this is the official signature of devils) is a unique generator of warm light in the room.
The sound of Phast Anniverasry
Exactly, but what does the appearance have to play, after all, the amplifier is supposed to not look like it, right?
When it comes to fidelity – it’s not playing top flights – it’s very good, but it can be better in many ways. On the other hand, this sound is different – unmistakable and it is difficult for me to pass by such a sound indifferently.
On the one hand, we have the transparency and taste characteristic of Triody in Single Ended.
On the other hand, it plays a lot of weight and relatively thick. I do not know to what extent it is due to the Ruthenian oils in the signal track, how much the construction itself.
The sound from the Phast is colorful, like a little amplifier. The diameter hangs in the air from the weight.
There are many harmonic distortions – for many maybe even too much … more than injadis da30orAudio Note Here.
Female vocals are pearly, shiny. Men’s vocals like Leonard Cohen or Nick Cave so guttural and mature that even when quietly listening, you can feel their presence. Not because of the pushing out, but the amazing embedment, energy.
Acoustic instruments are also slightly thickened, but not rude, boorish, because they still have more sophistication than on the vast majority of transistors or other lamps.
The dynamics on the micro scale could be better, as if they are rounded, but it does not bother you at all. Macro dynamics? The bass volume is large. Control like in devils – no madness, but as long as we don’t give Phast a very complex and fast material – we won’t feel it.
The bass of Phasta is not like a Golf GTI, rather an old 5-liter Cadillac.
He is large, powerful, he does not collect very quickly, but it is difficult for him to deny his energy and willingness to play. It happens that you would like to be faster, but in the end, it takes us to our destination quite comfortably and feels that he is giving his best.
There is no doubt when the attack takes place and how strong it should be. Yes – it is more volume than agility, but that is its nature.

This amplifier was hosted by me a few years ago – then I did not have suitable speakers for it, because neither the Tannoy LGM, and the Snell E3 were not a good match. So he landed at my friend, who had successfully combined him with Sonus Faber Cremona for years.
After replacing the speakers, he came back to me and I had undoubted fun to play with him again.
Phast – my opinion
Sticking to the car analogy – Phast will not be the best choice for fast narrow routes with multiple bends. However, if we want to go on a comfortable journey and we know the way (our repertoire, taste), it will provide us with a whole lot of great impressions. Sometimes it will be irritated by its slightly sluggish character … Another time it will surprise us how well it reacts to the gas pedal. However, it is always comfortable with Phast, and it will get what is most important out of the music.
Whenever I put Phast in the track, it causes me strong nostalgia.
I happened to go back to devices that I gave up earlier and usually it does without much emotions. Phasta would like to always be in stock.
The climate resulting from the light emitted by lamps, harmonics, mass and warmth. Each repertoire we play on it evokes emotions and the impression of communing with music. We quickly forget about more sophisticated or exaggerated presentations.
In order for it to sound as it should be, it is worth giving him loudspeakers with a good bass speed or with a relatively small bass volume. The diameter will be perfectly twisted in all columns.
Cables, or the source should be quite transparent and dynamic, so that its vices do not overlap because it may get too sticky and too precise.
For evening magic, quiet listening to the calm (but not only) repertoire, for intimate meetings with music is really excellent.
