Eltax PWR 1959 Vintage Monitor
I am often asked about some sensibly priced tube amplifier speakers.
When it comes to the stimulant market or vintage loudspeakers, there will be a bit of it, although sometimes you have to hunt and be patient.
However, I know that many people have a phobia of used things – they do not know themselves, they are afraid of modification, they like to break the foil first and these matters.
… or simply in the world he wants to buy and have peace of mind.
I invented Danish columnseltaxwhich are equipped with a 15 inch bass woofer, 96db efficiency and a highly vintag style … and I found it would be a pity not to try it.
The sound of the Eltax Monitor PWR 1959
Eltaxy offers, above all, very nice bass and great dynamics. Bass, which no stand mount column will give you, and hardly any floor covering with small speakers, even in a much higher budget.
Music has very good energy. The vocals sweetened with the lamp are warm and atmospheric.With a transistor amplifier, we get better bass control, but this pit is not so warm anymore, and a bit of a spell escapes on the vocals.
To whom do I think ELTAX is addressed:
- A person who is just getting started in audio and there is no expensive electronics
- Someone with a large listening room whose small columns will not sound appropriate or loud, but only very loud
- A person who receives music more on a macro scale – is looking for cool vocals, good quality bass, appropriate scale, fucking
- Someone who wants to play something in the background and in the evening and have a real difference to the soundbar or columns from the supermarket in this budget
- For the person who wants to try the lampThese loudspeakers are, in my opinion, the maximum of what is worth trying with tube amplifiers up to 5000-6000PLN for a new device
- music lover not audiophile
- A person who is looking for loudspeakers for a restaurant or restaurant – they look really impressive and, getting a more powerful amplifier, can play with a big sound and publicize the dance.
In my track, plugged in next toAudiophase Flow(price PLN 20,000) were much weaker in each band, but I did not expect anything else.
On the other hand, against the background of these speakers, Eltax had a much easier to grasp by an amateur bass.
Only in my opinion it is not entirely a drawback and a determinant – Flow shows the track very nicely, they are 4x more expensive. ELTAX GO averages GO, in the case of expensive sets (from PLN 30,000 up) – this is a drawback,In the case of cheap stereo systems, it is a plus, because these loudspeakers will not reveal the shortages of a cheap amplifier,Whether a poor integrated DAC or a cheap turntable from a chain store.
For people for whom audio is not the whole life, they will just be good enough,And their price … is really very, very attractive– and considering the above features – I believe that they will end up in their niche,because I do not see any competition for them in such a budget.
Summation
I will not be delighted, because I move completely in a different price segment on a daily basis and I will not darken you that Eltax has shaken my world. they are only a background for themGrandnote Mach 8XLfor nearly PLN 100,000,Audiophase Flowfor PLN 20,000, which is a total opportunity in their case, orJM Lab Spectralthe equivalent of which today is about PLN 50,000.
I believe that for this money, if their appearance is an advantage for you, it is simply worth a try.They are ridiculously cheap.
Vintage columns in this budget can be found of course better, but here you need to have someelementary knowledge, because not everyone will play better, and even on the secondary marketHardly any of them will give such a bassand dynamics.
In this budget, I can highly recommend Eltax, because in its own way it is simply unrivaled.The speakers can be rented for listening, listened to and sent back if you don’t like them.
In audio, it is always worth judging with your own ear.In my 20 sq m room, their bass was their undeniable advantage– They will cope in the rooms where the rear bass reflex causes a beating and the small speaker has to wrestle to cheat physics.
e.g. popularDiamond 28(about PLN 8,000), in my living room he rumbled and was unheard of, ELTAX powered by 3.5W Sun Audio, 10W Audio Note, or 18W Cary Audio was doing great. I also made a very good combination with the Tangent Powerampster II monoblocks. Of course, a bit of ‘soul’ and tube charm escaped, but again … for the money – in today’s market it is a really fantastic game.
