Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage with Jadis and Tenor Audio

After going to Kashubia to Czesław, an adventure with a setgrandinote, this time it was time for a trip to Bydgoszcz and Tomek’s system.

However, it is appropriate to start with the context in which I will write about its system.

How is Tom listening?

First of all, I have the impression that almost continuously – the music plays in his car, in the living room and in the listening room, which I will look at in this post.

The room is quite small, but symmetrical, many sets that Tomek did there had a problem with the bass. The photos show little … there is little light there. It is a room to ‘disconnect’ to suppress the sense of sight, to focus on hearing.

At first it is a bit surprising, the ear takes time to accommodate both to the room and to the sound itself, which is completely different from the one I have recently in my head (Polykevlar JM Lab,flow, grandinote)

In Jadis you can hear the character of Jadis, which I described here:jadis da30, there is no point in repeating yourself, they sound so similar (on a macro scale) that the sound immediately seemed familiar to me.

This is a statement in which the emphasis is onSmooth, color, diameter, vocals. So what I like very much. Nevertheless, the presentation is completely different than most of the ones I do at home.

Grandnote also plays a completely different way, which draws a larger panorama, plays more contours and more directly ‘attack’ the listener.

The sound is open, fleshy, on many recordings you can feel that the bass is a bit conquered by the room and is simply monitored. However, there is a lot of it, it is well controlled directly from the loudspeaker, but at the same time the room spoils it a bit – on the other hand, despite the small speakers – you can feel that the entire room is playing.

The set is doing well with most of the music, but as you can guess, vocals or acoustics shine. However, it is not a super faithful presentation, but in its own way a bit averaged, musical, sweetened.

A typical audiophile indoctrinated with forums and an old press will find a lot of aspects that could be improved with a fuse, another cable, source or amplifier.On the other hand, a music lover should have a feast at a very high level.

Does it bother you?

I absolutely not, although I would be lying if I said that I would not want to rummage there a little and experiment. 🙂

Personally, I liked the presentation with absolutelyHi-end monoblocks Tenor Audio OTL 75W(4 devils per channel). The whole thing gained more transparency, class and air. The bass quality has improved significantly.

This amplifier, however, brings ‘that something’ to the sound, which is absolutely unique in the scale of what I have shifted.

I will try to look at it in the near future.

Anyway – the room was immediately warm and not from the sound itself, as you can probably guess 🙂

I will not be original when I write that I liked the sonuses the most on strings – the violin, the cellos were simply astonishing. Not in the way Sun or Audion does it – fidelity, contour, amazing shading.

There is some kind of audio-magic happening here. There is incredible smoothness and smoothness. The mass of harmonics, airiness, ethereal. But these notes hit the listener in a completely different way.

I am looking for a metaphor, but at the moment no comparison seems to be adequate enough.

This is some kind of spell that tells you:Stop analyzing, listen!Part of the repertoire is a bit confusing, some play like a better cover of your favorite number. There is some kind of mindfuck.

Summation

The sound from sonuses with both tenor and jadis is not very offensive. There is, of course, openness, there is even some kind of tonal neutrality in the diameter – it does not seem overly analytical, nor the other way around – overloaded.

You can describe the sound impressions for a long time, but this is one of those sets and situations that are not the point at all.

Sonus Faber is playing, is it best under the sun? Of course not. This is one of the variations and ideas for sound, which, combined with specific electronics and a room, can very much change the character and directions.

Sonus Faber is an audio legend– both conceptually sound and design. What they don’t get is what they look like.

And these sonuses are beautiful – small works of art.

Just like tenors, which in turn may not have such woodwork anymore, but when 8 devils in the twilight light up and Smyki is played by Sonus Faber … This is one of the places where you want to spend the evening enjoying a glass of whisks, or a glass of good wine.

The whole thing is a performance in which the sound is good, but the envelope (just like in Czesław’s room) adds additional sensations that you will not define with the quality of the sound itself.
